County Fair 2009

The weekend before last we ventured to LaPlata to make it to the fair. I was hoping to let Julia see the other little toddlers in the baby contest, but Dave was not very fond of it. There were quite a few people at the pavillion, so we opted not to enter. We did however enjoy a few rides.

And we even did a few games. We let Julia pick out a couple of the floating ducks, since she loves her rubber duckies. She won a stuffed duckie and a stuffed butterfly. We also played a water gun game, because her mommy likes them. Well, Daddy and Julia won it. And she got the best prize of all, this bear...

See how happy she is with this bear. Funny!

Dad's Boots

So, she has a (small) fascination with shoes. She likes to try on mom and dad's shoes and walk in them. Well, Dave's work boots are heavy (Julia can only pick up one at a time and still has a little trouble) steel toe boots.

She can inch them along, but can only move about 6 inches forward. Then the boots start to go sideways and she can't correct that.

She wanted to show Dad she could walk in his shoes. Very cute and funny, none the less.

Fourth Anniversary

Happy Anniversary Baby! From four years ago...

Here are some words that Julia can say or, more accurately, has a verbal representation of: book, potty, bath tub, duckie, blankie, socks, shoes, more, please (peas), yogurt (go-gur), cheese, cheers, bib, eat, teeth, hair, eyes, head, trash, vacuum, doggie, Max, Daddy, Maw Maw, Judy (Jew-ie), Aunt Betsy, Andy, Vicki, button, buckle (guckle or guk-guk), glasses, and there are probably a few more that I am missing.

She knows quite a few more words, but does not vocally say them yet. She knows her ears, nose, belly, toes, feet, arms, hands, and fingers. She knows who all of her aunts and uncles are, but does not say everyone's name yet. Same goes for her grandparents. She sometimes says Mom or Mama, but more or less just points or makes a noise.

She knows her schedules / routines. Like for bedtime, she knows that we go upstairs and brush her teeth, change into pajamas, read a book, rock in the glider, and sing, then it is bed time. Then when we do baths there is a whole addition of another routine included with bedtime. She knows her feeding Max routine too. She loves that (chore) responsibility.

More about Julia later. And everyone cross your fingers that I gained weight this time around for my doctors appointment this evening.

New Camera

Ok, so since like March of 2008, when we went on our Germany trip, I (we) haven't had a personal camera (it broke on the trip - stupid electronic chips that break). I've been using the company cameras and lately Dave seems to have both of them for work. I finally went and got me a personal one. (I was going to get the same thing as the newer work one, but they stopped making it, so I got one very similar.) Here's the cute girl last week.

I'll try to do more updates soon. I also have a list of words at home, so hopefully I can steal some time from Dave to use his laptop and write you guys up a list of the words Julia can sort of say (in her own way of course). I go to the doctors again this week too.
