Camera Phone Pics

And a couple cute pictures from my cell phone. Isn't she adorable?

I'll do a better update later, but FYI... she now has two more teeth. They came in Wednesday the 25th (or maybe even Tuesday). They are the top ones just to the sides of where her front teeth would be.

These pictures were taken on March 7th.

Julia at Nine Months

Yay, Julia can crawl! Actually, she has been crawling for about a week now (since the 14th).

At her doctor's visit she weighed in at 16 pounds even and she measured 27 1/4 inches tall.

(Side note: I think my scale was off last month - it had given me 15.7 pounds twice and 16.3 pounds thrice - because I always double and triple check our weights when I do them. And we weigh her at home with clothes on and at the doctor's office they do it with clothes off, so we may be off an ounce or two - or tenths as our scale does.)

More pictures later, I hope.

Other March 3rd Video

Here's another cute one. She is just being herself.

At least one more video to come...

Today...

So, this morning I took the pretty girl to the doctor's office for a well visit check-up. Everything went just fine. She was weighed, measured, and "looked" at with the doctor's instruments (ears, eyes, etc.). We were in and out without a great deal of anything. (I have here measurements at home, so I will post that all with some photos later.)

While we were there I filled out an eye questionnaire regarding Julia (and her family). Since I have a lazy eye and Dave had bad vision, they suggest Julia see an ophthalmologist. That was scheduled for some time in May, since she is showing no signs of problems herself. Still no problems.

There were no vaccines this time, but they did send us for some blood work at a lab. The doctor's appointment was scheduled during her breakfast time, so we kind of snacked in the waiting room (not a long wait) and then went to work to eat the breakfast I packed in the diaper bag (and some milk feeding too) at the office (right around the corner) after the doctor's visit. Then we set off to the lab on the way home.

Here's where the problem happens. First, labs have waits. This would not have been that bad, except for the fact that we got there just about nap time and then we did not have a good time in the blood work room. Apparently Julia has very small, hard to find veins.

Here's a what happened: The first lady tried to find one in Julia's right arm, then her left, then her right, then her left. The lady then tried Julia's right hand, her left hand, her right arm, and her left arm (again). Lots of flicking (no needles yet). Julia was of course a happy girl wanting to talk with the lady. Julia was patient and did not pull her arms back too often, but no luck. A second lady came in. She tried to find a vein on both arms twice, then looked at both hands, and then both arms again. She then decided to try a vein in Julia's right hand (close to the knuckles). Success, or so we thought. It was short lived and there really wasn't enough to fill all the tubes for the testing. So, the lady tried to get a vein in Julia's left hand. Here is where the tears and cryings start to happen. (There was a little fussing with the right hand, but not much.) Julia had jerked her hand back, so the needle was not in right (the lady said it was a "blow out") and we did not get much blood for the tests. They will try to use what they got, but not a successful blood taking. (I, on the other hand, generally do not have a problem. Most say my veins are good to use.)

We were at the lab one hour and twenty minutes (twenty minute wait, one hour trying to get blood). Julia fell asleep on the way home. She really wanted her nap! Hopefully all is better after the nap. (I left her with Grandma-ma and I came to work.)

March 3rd Videos

Julia learned to do the "Ah ah ah ah" that happens when you hit your mouth like the "Indian call," for lack of better terms, that all children seem to do. She would open her mouth and wait for you to (lightly) tap her mouth and she would "aaaaaahhhhhh" for you. She has since learned she can do this herself, but she does it with her hand backwards. It is too cute.

She likes bath time too. She sits up in the tub and then at some point decides that it's also fun to play on her tummy. This video should just make you smile.

One more from this day to upload later...

Videos at Maw Maw's

Here is Julia playing with Maw Maw's oxygen line (one month ago on Feb. 19th).

Here is the girl saying "ma ma ma ma" and playing with blocks (last Saturday, Mar. 14th). She really like the blocks at Maw Maw's place.

Still more to come...

Ball Rolling Video

So, Julia can roll the ball back and forth to anyone who wants to play on the floor with her. This is so very cute. She and I were having so much fun. She was doing it a bit more precisely earlier, but Dave did not have the camera recording when he thought it was. The video is from two weeks ago.

I'm going to try to upload a few videos over the next few days to have a few quick posts for you guys. Wish me luck. Oh, and Julia has a doctor's visit coming up too (for 9 months). She is getting so big too fast.

Quick Update

So, I'm a bad blogger these days, again. Probably will always happen from time to time for me. Anyway, here's a picture for you all. Julia is doing two of the things she enjoys lots, talking to Daddy on the (speaker) phone and eating (her wheel or "honeycomb on steroids").

I will need to high jack Dave's camera one of these days and download the Julia pictures so you can see her in the snow we had last week. We went out several times (for very short stints) to see the snow and (trying) to play in it. Julia could not do much, seeing as she can't walk and was kind of puffy in her snow suit, but it was cool none the less.

She is just now sitting up from a lying position these days. She scoots herself backwards, but it is not really a backwards crawl. She still is doing the "roll" to get around, no real crawling happening. She loves to roll the ball (I have a video I have to high jack too) back and forth with anyone. She does a great 360 (Uncle Joel thinks this is funny) to maneuver in different directions. This works with the "roll" to get her around. She is saying "ma ma ma ma" a lot this week. Sometimes for Mom, sometimes for Dad, sometimes for anything else (it could be for Grandma-ma or Maw Maw too). She does a light pat when you ask her to give you five (sometimes). She is getting about 2/3rds of the guesses right when I ask her what things are from her books (of words, colors, and animals).

More soon, I hope. Just wanted to put an update for the faithful followers (like Grandpa). Oh, and YUN G-dad is now Grandpa, we think. He was Pap at Christmas time. Not quite sure what YUN G-mom is yet. She did not like Nana. She wants Julia to just call her whatever she wants and that will be it. She may just be the other Grandma, but who knows.
