Julia at Eleven Months

Quick post guys... hopefully I will upload some more pictures soon.

Here is Miss Grace waiting for dinner to be ready. (We got to have fish fillets and tater tots since Daddy was away!)

And here she is with her "birthday" dinner. she had salmon (better for her than the fish fillets and she likes it more), tater tots, carrots, and applesauce.

And here is a cute picture of her and her teeth.

That evening, after being fed, she weighed in at a mere 18 pounds even, on our home scale. Cute posing pictures from that evening should come soon.

Have a great weekend guys!

Correction... Front Teeth

So, I noticed yesterday evening that Julia is getting both of her front teeth now. The left one is coming out too! I'll try to get a picture of them soon.

Front Tooth and Doctors

First, look at these eyes. Don't you just want to melt?

And this cute pose that wasn't posed but she was caught in motion at the right time.

And her little finger just reaching out for the button.

Adorable isn't she?

So, today, we went to the eye doctor to make sure Julia's eyes are developing fine. Yes they are. We had no worries, but her regular doctor wanted us to get her checked with the family history of eye problems. We also stopped by to get her blood drawn again (since they did not get enough last time... remember this). This time went better. They found a vein in her right arm and she cried, but it took little time to draw the blood. (The wait beforehand was an hour, though.) Oh, and her right front tooth is coming in (or out), I think since Wednesday.

Here's a couple pictures from Mother's Day.

So, we went to Bob Evan's for breakfast on Mother's Day. A gentleman was walking around giving all of the mothers (and women in general, I think) a rose. This is the first time that Julia did not try to eat the flower (or anything that I've tried to get her to smell) when she smelled it. (Not that she knew how to sniff, but it looked cute none-the-less.)

Julia and Mommy waiting to be seated for breakfast.

Next week she is 11 months! (And you get an update then.) Soon she will be one year.

Happy Mother's Day!

To all of my (our) moms and grandmothers... yay! (I know I'm a day late, but that's ok.) Thanks for teaching me how to dance in life (or at least watching and laughing at me). Here's a cute video to make you smile.

Things I forgot to write last time...

1. She loves to dance!

2. She laughs a cute fake-ish laugh (that sounds similar to Dylan's "I'm trying to laugh really hard at all the adult jokes," laugh).

3. She waves good bye (and sometimes it is hello or good night).

4. She can climb up stairs now. (So we have to be extra watchful now.)

5. Although she loves her baths, she hates showers. I tried to kill (meaning bathe) two birds (meaning me and Julia) with one stone (meaning a shower) and ended up just making one of them scream loudly.

There is probably more, but I'll remember that stuff later.

Julia's First Snow Part 3

And this is what the house looked like on Monday morning. You can't even see our driveway.

And Andy came over that evening to help plow our driveway.

And Dave was out there working on clearing the driveway too. (Or at least he was propping up the shovel in between it being used. Ha ha... he actually did shovel the snow.)

And here is the back walk that I shoveled that morning. Notice how high the snow is compared to Julia. I think we got about a foot of snow, but I never actually measured it.

And now back to your regularly scheduled blog...

Julia's First Snow Part 2

And here are some pictures from March 2nd. I took off work and got to spend a snow day with my baby! She was not crawling or walking yet, so she could not fully enjoy the snow, but we did make it out quite a few times to look, and play, and eat the snow. Here's our cute, pink, marshmallow of a girl in her snow suit ready to go outside.

And I dug a hole in the snow so she could stand. This is really how high the snow was on our driveway.

And we went inside to warm up by the fire (and play with toys) several times.

We also walked around front and made snow angels. Here she is sitting in hers.

And the mommy and baby snow angels we left behind. Aren't they cute?

More to come...

Julia's First Snow Part 1

I know you have been patiently awaiting these wonderful pictures (because everyone wants to know exactly what happens in my life, well, maybe not mine, but maybe Julia's). Here are the pictures from the snow on March 1st.

Getting ready to go out in the snow for the first time.

First steps and feeling it snowing.

It's kind of fun. I think it even tickles my nose.

Look Maw Maw we're out in the snow!

Daddy and I say it is time to go back in. It's getting windy (and cold) out here.

More to come...

New Things

What is a post without a picture? Not one you want to read, so here are some pictures. Both of these are from March 20th.

She is such a happy baby when she wakes up. She loves mornings! And her bears (which are now taken down).

So, here are some updates about how Julia is growing and learning.

1. For a few weeks now she has been pulling herself up to standing. She also moves from one object, piece of furniture, or toy to another while standing up and holding on.

2. She loves doors and opening and closing doors. It is a new peek-a-boo game for her.

3. For a few weeks now she actually claps, with her flat hands, when you say "yay!" or sing Patty Cake, etc.

4. She hates being put in the exercauser or play pen to play. Once there, sometimes, you can calm her down to play, but not often. She would rather stand outside of the exercauser and play with it or another toy.

5. We had to remove her bear mobile over her bed now that she stands up and yanks at it.

6. She still loves: baths, her blankie, her bed (for naps and bed time), eating (more so when she can feed herself), mornings, doggies, her mommy, her daddy, being chasing by someone else who is crawling.

7. She does not mind getting dressed, but does not really like to be laying down when it happens anymore. She wants to get dressed while she is playing with her toys or standing at the music table. That also goes for diaper changes. After you get the diaper off (and her bottom partially wiped when it is, um, dirty) then she crawls off at a high speed. If you try to flip her back on her back then she starts fussing.

8. Oh, and she absolutely is horrified of the changing tables in public bathrooms. She always has been. The last time I tried to change her out in public (this past week) was at Noodles and Co. and I ending up holding her in my arms in front of the mirror (single person restroom) so that she would not scream (she was whimpering in front of the mirror until I turned the water on). The changing table was only useful to set my purse and the dirty diaper on once it was taken off. It was a good thing that she was only wet that day. I think she actually goes into a panic when we walk into a public restroom. (But she plays in the bathrooms at home. Go figure.)

There is probably more to this list, but my brain always fails me when I make it. There are so many things I want to write down so I do not forget, but once I start I cannot remember them all.

Julia at Ten Months

Last Sunday my precious baby girl turned ten months! She weighed (according to our home scale) 16.8 pounds on Sunday evening.

We had a full weekend, with a nice day on Saturday. We have patches of tall grass (mainly where our future deck will be) and we have bare dirt spots (mainly right out front and right out back). Here Julia sits in the tall grass out back, and you can see our bare dirt behind her.

We walked over to the neighbor's yard sale across the street. They had a lot of toys out there. (The lady was a kindergarten teacher and they have grandchildren.) We found this cool, little, wooden Radio Flyer scooter for Julia to play on. We need to sand down the rough spots on the wheels before she can learn on it in the house.

Maw Maw even came outside to join us in the nice warm breeze for quite a while.

Now, here are some pictures from Sunday. Here she is, cute as can be in the morning.

And playing with the toys that Aunt Betsy (Brooke, Dylan, and Uncle Ritchie) gave her for Easter. Speaking of Easter, Julia got gifts for a week straight (just about).

And here she is reading a book after dinner.

Ok, so snow pictures next week, I promise!

MB Trip Part 3

Julia thought that closing the drawer was hilarious! Hope you do too!
