So Cute At Two Months!

Here are a few adorable pictures of the cute little Julia.

When she is wide awake and happy, she just loves tummy time. She makes quite a bit of sounds these days. Lots of oohhs and aahhs and something that sounds like a cross between, a very elongated, Hi and eye.

Daddy got a new toy. Here it is with the little girl in front of it. (Although, she wasn't too into getting her picture taken there.) She doesn't mind all of the noise it makes and sometimes it helps to stop her from crying.

And, she is a hand talker, just like her mommy. Here's a great picture of her hands in motion.

Julia is Two Months Today!

Ok, so I do not have pictures downloaded yet to add to this post, but I will try to take some cute ones and put them on later this week. Last month, the pictures I tried to take at one month did not come out well. The lighting was bad and she did not have good faces in them.

She is such a wonderful little baby. For a week now, she has been sleeping through the night (most nights). She normally goes down around 11pm and gets up around 5 or 6 am. I just know that she is spoiling us so that she can get a cute little sibling in the near future.

Oh, and she is not the baby of the family any more. She has a cute little cousin who came into the world eight weeks after she did. Little Drew was born on August 14th. Now my sweet little baby looks like a big girl next to the new baby boy.

More Julia Pictures

Here's Julia on July 8th. I think this is just the funniest picture. She did this "fish face" the first month and she went cross-eyed and puckered her lips like a fish. I never did get a picture of the actual fish face, but this picture is just after she did it.

Here she is slightly more animated that evening when we went to visit at my mom's house, sitting on the hammock with YUN G-mom.

A few weeks later we found the box that had the remainder of her new nursery stuff, which included this cool, really little rocking chair. If you knew how little the chair really was you could tell how little she really is in this picture. (July 23rd)

In the mornings, we wake up and she likes to stare at the windows. They are the most amazing thing in her world right now. Light fixtures and ceiling fans rank high up there too. Also, recently she has started to try to bat at the toys from her Exersaucer Mat. Here she is on the mat, but she really was looking at the windows. (Aug 2nd)

Now, isn't she "the cutest kid you ever did see," as her Aunt Stacey would say?

Julia June Pictures

Ok, so I want to get these up here so that I can start doing new posts with new pictures as time goes on.

Here is the new baby dressed and ready to go home from the hospital on June 22nd. Her outfit was a little big, but still it was cute.

Now here is Julia napping in her carrier at the office on Monday morning, June 23rd. We had to go into work and do payroll and month end invoicing.

Since she mostly slept through June, here are some cute pictures. The first one is on the 28th and the second is on the 29th in her Aunt Vicki's arms. She loves to sleep on her side.

Third Doctor Visit

Julia had her third doctor's visit today. I'm not sure if I like this doctor's office. The wait is always long (two hours this time) and the phone is automated for the first twenty minutes. I will say the people are friendly enough once you get into the exam room or get them on the phone, but the wait kill me.

So, she has gained over two pounds and two inches. She is 8 pounds 9 ounces and 20-3/4 inches now. She is just a growing baby. She also got a shot today. I think she took it very well, but the area is a little sore.

Meet the Grandparents

So, here are all of the grandparents Julia has:

She met her "yet un-named" (YUN) G-mom at birth. My mom got the call that my water broke and she quickly made it to the hospital just in enough time to put Dave to work holding my leg for the delivery (she said he could do it better than her, and a nurse had the other one). YUN G-mom also stopped by the next afternoon and YUN G-dad stopped by a little after that (two of her uncles are in the picture with them).

They are "yet un-named" right now because they are the only set of our parents who do not have grandchildren yet, and therefore are not already named. I was hoping that they would pick out names for themselves, but they say they will figure it out before Julia starts to talk. So until we name my mom and step-dad, they will be YUN G-mom and YUN G-dad.

Granddad came to the hospital the next morning and later that evening Maw Maw B (for Becky) came by to meet Julia. This is my dad and step-mom (she is Maw Maw B because my maternal grandmother is also named Maw Maw).

That evening she also met her Grandma-ma (Dave's mom). She had to wait until Sunday evening to see her Paw Paw and Grandma (Dave's dad and step-mom).

She will be a very spoiled little girl with all of these grandparents to love her. I will add another post with her Great-Grandparents later.

Julia Grace

Let's start at the beginning, or at least hers. So, we bought some property last year and at the end of September we broke ground to start building our new house. At that time we had no plans of starting a family any time soon. We thought we might try to start "trying to get pregnant" after we were settled into the new house.

Then in October we took a trip to Florida. We visited my grandparents and met up with Dave's family for Disney. We think she was conceived during this trip. It was around my birthday that I thought maybe. I told Dave a few days later and took a test. He didn't trust it, so I took another. We told his family on his birthday. We told my family on Thanksgiving (pictured below with Momo and the sonogram taken the day before Thanksgiving).

The pregnancy went well, and I didn't have much symptoms or problems. I worked up to the day I gave birth. That day was the first day I felt any "preliminary" pains. It was a Thursday night she was born. We were in the hospital a few days with "Baby Girl" before we picked her name. Now we have a sweet precious angel named Julia Grace. Here's her announcement:

Julia is five weeks old now and is growing too fast for her mom to accept. I want to see her grow and become a beautiful thriving young lady, but I also want to enjoy her as a precious baby now! She loves her sleep and likes flat surfaces. She is not a fan of the carrier (unlike every other baby we've heard about). She can stand her swing for a little while, but is not fond of the bouncy chair. Her vision is, I think, above average. She loves lights and sunny windows. She is a happy baby with a bit of spunk, even at her young age.
So, back to the story, we built a house and started a family at the same time. Although we were supposed to have the house completed before the birth, we had a few construction problems (one included a roof leak) so we did not have the house finished on schedule. To top it off, Julia arrived two weeks early, so we moved into the new house a week after she was born.

Why do this?

Ok, so I have decided to do this blog thing. It is not like me, but I thought it would be great to keep track of life this way. I hope this works the way I have planned. I want to keep a record for myself and I want to keep family (and friends) in the loop on all of the things happening with me.

I'll be putting updates of the house, Julia, and everything else here, so all can keep up. Wish me luck!
